I had both the fried oysters and the tonkatsu ramen (added fried garlic, spicy chili, and an egg). The fried oysters were very good, very hit inside and served with a nice sauce. The ramen broth was good, had a nice silkiness to it and the pork was flavorful and not too fatty. My dining companion had the pork Katsu curry and he said it was tender and not dry. Also enjoyed his sake. Restrooms were clean! Would visit again!

Not only is the food good but the service is spectacular. The servers and wait staff are very attentive. The space is very cozy and the japanese food is very authentic. I lived in Japan many moons ago and everytime i visit Tabata, it takes me back. Try the chicken katsu, you will not be disappointed. Two thumbs way up!

Phenomenal place for lunch and dinner. Staff are super friendly and personable even when they are busy. Dined here a million times and have never had a bad experience. My highlights are: - grilled pork belly skewers - king salmon sashimi (honestly the best thing ever!) - red samurai ramen (all the ramen broths are very flavorful and I have never disliked any of them) - grilled hamachi collar (harder to eat but so tasty and worth the hassle picking at the neck bone) - ginger ice cream!! Bathrooms are clean but keep in mind they are downstairs in the basement. Would highly recommend and look forward to coming back again and again!

I got the Tabata ramen and it is delicious. The guy at the counter while I was waiting was raving about how authentic Japanese it was cause he lived in Japan. I can't speak to that cause I've never lived there but I can tell you his delight was real. No back to this Tabata ramen, it's perfectly seasoned, well-balanced and fresh tasting. The noodles are cooked perfectly, I watched him time them. This is one of the best ramens I have ever had. It is so good! I will be going here often when I'm in the city for work. This is just delicious!

Amazing ramen - don’t hesitate to come here! Have eaten here a few times now, and the best things on the menu: - Tan Tan Men Ramen - Gyoza (homemade, and tastes like it in the best way) - Skewers: shiitake mushroom, okra - Soba

We Tried Tabata Ramen for the first time tonight. Everything was so tasty and delicious. The service was efficient and Yuki gave us great recommendations. Some of our favorites included the gyoza (made in house fresh), the organic ginger salad, and the Sutamina (Spicy Miso) Ramen. We will be back!!

My heart sank when I discovered their location near port authority had closed. That spot was my go to for Ramen when I am in the city. I was so eager today I hopped on the Q train uptown, and let me tell you, the journey was more than worth it. I ordered the Sutamina Ramen, and it was nothing short of perfection rich, flavorful, and exactly the kind of deliciousness I'd been craving. I recently traveled to Japan and had many delicious Ramens but none quite like this. I also discovered they do hot pot?!?! Five stars simply aren't enough for Tabata. Looking forward to going back with my wife.
